police. police said that the surveillance video, captured by a camera on the bus, backs up the drivers account on what happened. >> police are stating that at this time they don't have a vague description of the man and woman. that said that both people are thought to be asian. the man is in his 30's, the woman is in her 20's. >> there's no relief for a family distraught after the 13 year-old daughter was missing. police say that a ana eliz-arraras was found safe late yesterday morning in the south bay area. a family member apparently located her around 11:00 a.m.. police said that she appears to have willingly left her home sunday morning, but did not contact family or friends after she

warning is in effect for the entire bay area with the exception of san francisco and now has been extended through tomorrow and then tomorrow, big change is coming this way. we will talk more about that when i come back a little bit later. >>james: warming shelters have been set up in the south bay because of the unseasonal cold weather. three shelters in san jose, sunnyvale and gilroy are open overnight for people to get away from the freezing temperatures. there are 50 beds at the boccardo regional reception center in san jose. 125 beds at the former sunnyvale

interstate 5 southbound in stockton is shut down after a police officer shot and killed a homicide suspect southbound lanes and their country club drive are closed. police for tracking the suspect from the san jose area when his car became disabled on the freeway. police said that the suspects brandished a knife at officers before he was shocked. now with a check with dan and the traffic centers. off and right now all southbound lanes on interstate 5 are shut down at alpine. no estimated time for reopening those lanes so definitely a void that area. over at the bay bridge toll plaza we are back up into the macarthur maze with all lanes fasttrack cash lanes. a meter in lights are on so it's a very slow right getting into san francisco.

the san mateo bridge some backup. it started slowing again of an over the high rise and also a word of a stalled truck on was found 92. that will block on the sideline. golden gate bridge is in good shape and bart is on time. >>james: now to restore you only see on kron4. a startling discovery and san francisco. a box of human ashes left near the south of van ness ramp to highway 101. kron4's stanley roberts found the remains yesterday afternoon. it turns out the remains are that of san francisco resident dorothy cosmos she died when she was 94 years old. neighbors say cosmos and her husband ran the snack bar on one of the bay ferry boats. officials at the mortuary label on the box said they gave the ashes to family members to years ago. we also spoke to

cosmo's son who says that ashes were given to his sister but that she recently moved. he plans of getting his mother's remains back today. >>darya: a woman in her 60s assaulted and robbed in a parking lot at the bay fair mall in san leandro. police are now stepping up patrols in that area. police said that at around noon time monday 15 year-old girl attacked the victim from behind while the victim walked back to her car and the target parking lot. the victim was knocked to the ground and hit several times on the head before the suspect stole the woman's purse. police said the suspect into 16 year-old boy is left the area and a stolen car. after a brief pursuit all three were arrested. police say, the victim did nothing wrong about the incident serves as a good reminder to shoppers that these sorts of crimes spike during the holiday shopping season. >>: you really want to pay attention to your surroundings. keep your valuables close to you and secure. don't leave them in

train crash last sunday. the bay area man accused of shooting and killing someone over a place station for game council made his first appearance in court. 21 year-old ronnie, pence faces charges of murder and attempted robbery. the judge said his bill at $5 million. --ronnie collins. the victim, 22 year-old ikenna uwakah arrange on line to me, to the bay view on sunday to sell him a new

get back to our weather first and talk about what we are expecting. >>anny: we are not going to get a lot we will talk more about that and second streets will start with your national forecast because we are cold look at the rest of the west, montana billings montana - 3. that cold air really settling for a good portion of the west coast and if you want the mild weather, had to atlanta. los '70s, 65 and the d.c.. and we are colder than new york city for their high is 59 degrees. houston and dallas tx area is still with a lot of ice for the next couple of days. a lot of that cold air coming through. here is the frost on someone's car

and also, we are tracking some changes coming this way as well. we will talk more about that but futurecast 4 temperatures broken-down hour by hour. this morning by 8:00, we will still be in the 30's. very frigid as you step out the door. and then by 10:00 this morning, you will see only low 40's in livermore and san jose and 40 degrees in san rafeal. it's going to be really tough to warm things up even though we have all the sunshine for the afternoon. by lunchtime, we will still be in the forties. 45 and vallejo and that we will top out generally in the upper '40's. maybe a few spots in the lower 50s. otherwise, it will be tough to get out of the upper forties. the next thing we are watching, boy, i want to warn you that friday futurecast 4 at noon. a little bit of moisture heading our way generally in the form of some light rain. you could see that blue coming in with the snow

freezing temperatures continue this morning in the bay area. taking a live look out of livermore where residents are feeling the chill. we'll have more on just how cold it is.

continuing our team coverage of the freezing temperatures this morning. kron four's mike pelton is live in livermore with a look at how cold it is there, mike? was there some good news. we haven't seen any frost develop so residents to live out here are not having to scrape any ice off of their windshield. a lot of people are very cold though grid people are bundled up and coats and jackets. the spoken to a handful of residents about how they are preparing for the cold weather permits

developing news this morning out of stockton. southbound interstate 5 is closed as of 6:30 this morning. the c-h-p s investigating an officer involved shooting that happened near country club drive. it all started with a police pursuit. the suspect was wanted on suspicion of attempted homicide from san jose. a stockton police officer shot the man after he pulled out a knife. the suspect died at the hospital. let's check in with dan now on how that is impacting traffic. golden gate bridge we have some slowdown disband itself

a woman in her sixties -- assaulted and robbed in a parking lot at the bay fair mall in san leandro. police are now stepping up patrols in that area. police say that at around noontime monday a 15-year old girl attacked the victim from behind while the victim walked back to her car in the target parking lot. the victim was knocked to the ground and hit several times on the head, before the suspect stole the woman's purse. police say the suspect and two 16-year-old boys left the area in a stolen car. after a brief pursuit -- all three were arrested.
